After 20 great years, I am no longer working at CBS News Radio. It’s been an honor to work with some of the world’s best broadcast journalists.
As you may know, CBS laid off a lot of talented people this week, including some award-winning correspondents. I survived earlier layoffs, but not this one. I’m sad but not angry. My immediate bosses were ordered to cut and cut they did. I leave on good terms with everyone at news radio.
It’s much worse for some. Although I was an employee, it was part-time and I still have my full-time job at ConnectSafely and other contract work. But, I will miss radio and hope to find another outlet and/or another way to distribute something akin to my daily 1-minute Eye on Tech segment. I’m open to suggestions and potential partnerships if anyone has ideas. There is also the possibility of a different type of arrangement with CBS.
