Singapore uses robotic dog to warn people to keep their distance

A creepy looking yellow robotic dog is patrolling Singapore’s Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, keeping a sharp eye out for visitors who are too close to other people and warning them with a robotic voice to keep their distance.,

“SPOT,” according to the government of Singapore, “will be controlled remotely, reducing the manpower required for park patrols and minimizing physical contact among staff, volunteer safe distancing ambassadors and park visitors.”‘

SPOT is remotely controlled by humans, but has sensors to avoid collisions  The Verge reports that drones have been used in the U.S. and China to warn people to keep their distance.
