In an interview for CBS News Tech Talk (click above to listen), Houston Chronicle tech blogger Dwight Silverman recommended that users be sure they have lots of extra space on their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch before upgrading to Apple’s new OS 7. “Just as you do with any operating system on any computing device there are some steps you want to take.  You need to clear out some space on your iOS device, you’re going to want to offload some of the photos and movies you’ve taken, maybe clear out some songs you don’t listen to, certainly clear out apps that you don’t use often or at all.

Silverman also suggested you consider waiting a few days to see if there are any bug reports. ” I think with this version there is particularly a reason (to wait). This is an overhaul, a redesign of iOS 7. There are a lot of new features. It looks completely different. Something as ambitious as this is bound to have bugs. All version of new operating system have bugs and generally the cautious advice is to wait for the first point release. I think that is even smarter advice for this one.”
