How to be sure you’re using reputable filters when looking at the eclipse of the sun

America will experience an eclipse of the sun on August 21st but before you look up, look up to the sky, look on the Internet for a list of reputable vendors.

As Forbes.com pointed out:

Fortunately, there are special eclipse glasses you can get that allow you to watch the eclipse without harming your eyes. Unfortunately, some eclipse glasses aren’t safe to use, so you shouldn’t use any eclipse glasses that haven’t been verified as safe.”

Forbes urges that you consult that list of reputable vendors from the American Astronomical Society.
