Without further ado, here’s how to use the Art19 system login

  1. When your first log-in at art19.com, click on the podcast you want to add an episode to from the list of episodes that you are assigned to.
  2. In the upper-right, click on the green button that says New Episode.
  3. Leave the Type as Full and type in the name of the episode. Note: You no longer need to include the title of the show, as this is redundant on this platform, where it is necessary on the Newsfeed site. You just need to put what would be the “Slug” here.
  4. In what is called the Information Card, please fill out the following areas, as follows.
    1. Description should be the copy and pasted lead.
    2. Summary should be blank.
    3. Type should remain as Full.
    4. Episode Number should be left blank.
    5. Rating should be Unspecified
    6. Tags should be left blank.
  5. When you are done, click the blue Update & Close in the lower-right of the Information Card.
  6. Skip over the Image and Credits section.
  7. Drag a WAV version of the audio into the WarpFeed section of the page where it says “Drop file here to upload”. (An easy way to get the WAV version of the file is to drag the file from Search and Save on to your desktop.
  8. Your file will now process. (I recommend as you get more experience, if you are dealing with a long file, that you start with this step, so that it can process while you do other tasks.)
  9. Once it is done, you can make a final check of the audio with the player using it’s fairly standard controls.
    1. This is also when you would put in ad insertion points, but that is currently only applicable to Weekend Roundup.
    2. If you made any changes, press the green Process Changes button in the lower-right.
  10. In the Distribution card, click the blue Edit pencil in the upper-right.
    1. If you have forgotten to click Update & Close on the Information card, you may get a warning saying “Editing the Distribution card will revert your changes in the Information card because it is already in edit mode.” You should cancel publishing and go back to the Information card and save your changes.
    2. For all the podcasts that we do, you can publish them immediately by selecting publish and clicking the blue Update & Close button in the lower-right. If you need to schedule one for release, use the schedule option and pick a time.
