Gmail’s New Compose Window On By Default

I’m sure not the only one that got a bit of a shock today when I went to send an email only to find a new default way of composing messages.  Actually it was a happy shock. I like the new compose window.

It’s been available as option for month and, in a blog post, Google pointed out that “overwhelming number of you opted to try out Gmail’s faster, simpler compose experience after it launched last October.”  Since then Google has done some upgrades including adding a new way to send files with Google Drive that enables you to send files up to 10 GB by posting them on Google drive and attaching them to a Gmail message (more on that here)

One of the things I like about the new compose window is the ability to “pop out reply” so that when you’re replying to a message so that you can scroll up to view the message while you’re replying
